This week’s travel photo is of the Sydney Harbour Bridge in Sydney, Australia at night, taken from near the Opera House just after the sun disappeared over the horizon. I didn’t have my tripod on me at the time, so I used a nearby concrete barrier to take this longer exposure shot. It gave me an angle that I probably wouldn’t have captured otherwise.
More about the Sydney Harbour Bridge
Along with the Opera House, the Sydney Harbour Bridge is one of Australia’s most iconic landmarks. Completed in 1932, the steel arch bridge is affectionately nicknamed “The Coathanger” due to its distinctive shape. It carries vehicles, trains, bicycles, and pedestrians, making it a vital part of the city’s transport network, connecting the northern suburbs to the rest of Sydney. The bridge offers panoramic views of the Sydney Opera House and the harbour, especially from the pedestrian walkway or during the popular BridgeClimb experience, where you can ascend to the top of the bridge under guided tours (recommended at sunset).
Whether it is day or night, the Sydney Harbour Bridge is a real treat to the eyes. You cannot take your eyes from this amazing bridge, as such is the beauty and architecture of this bridge in Sydney. Anyways thanks for sharing this amazing snap.
Glad you liked the shot. Cheers!
Thanks Dean!!
Love the sunset! You’re right, it is a really unique angle. It’s funny what happens when you don’t have all your equipment!
Glad you liked the shot Brock. Sometimes forgetting something makes you think outside the box.
Nice shot. A creative composition/ perspective I haven’t seen before.
Thanks Stephanie!
