Cho La Pass in Nepal Himalaya

Today’s travel photo is a stunning landscape view down the valley from the Cho La Pass in Nepal, looking towards Taboche on the right and Ama Dablam in the distance. The Cho La Pass has to be one of the most spectacular treks I have done, but it wasn’t easy. It was a long day on the trail with a steep and crumbly ascent to 5400m, before heading down a snow and ice covered valley to get to this point overlooking the Khumbu Valley beyond. From here, I had one last knee aching descent down into the valley. All of the pain and hard work was well rewarded by these stunning views, and I will definitely come back and do it again.
