Prayer wheel in Chaurikharka, Nepal

Today’s travel photo is of a large prayer wheel in the village of Chaurikharka, Nepal. I passed through Chaurikharka during the last day of the first section of the my trek from Jiri, where I would then join onto the main trail to Everest. The Buddhist influence in this village was very apparent, and it was filled with mani walls, prayer wheels and prayer flags. While walking along these trails, walk to the left of the prayer wheels and mani walls and spin the wheels clockwise with your right hand. The local Buddhists believe that this will give you good luck on your journey, and you need all the luck you can get when trekking up to Everest Base Camp.
