Piazza della Cisterna in San Gimignano, Italy

Tuscany is full of little medieval towns, and one of the greatest examples that we saw during our travels in Italy is San Gimignano. This 13th century town is well known for it’s many towers that were built over the years, many of which are still standing today. The entire town is beautifully preserved as it was all of those centuries ago, and I really enjoyed exploring it’s little narrow cobblestone streets. I took this photo of Piazza della Cisterna after walking from the main Piazza Duomo, and discovered this cute little piazza with an old well (cistern) in it’s centre.  This is also the location of a delicious Gelateria that claims to have the world’s best gelato. I don’t know how true this is, but it sure was delicious!
