The Road to Anywhere was recently nominated by Ryan at Pause The Moment to participate in the My 7 Links project. My 7 Links was started by Tripbase and the idea is that you select one post from your archives for each of the seven categories. It’s a great way to bring bloggers together and to bring some life back to old posts.
I haven’t been blogging for very long, so I don’t have a lot of posts to choose from, but I will try my best to fill each category and to pass the challenge on to some other bloggers.
1. My most beautiful post
For my most beautiful post I would have to pick a photo post, so I will go with The Vatican City in photos. The photos say it all in this post and the subject is what makes it beautiful.
My most popular post:
So far the post that has had the most hits by far is Planning for a trip to Thailand. It always seems to get lots of traffic every day.
My most controversial post:
I haven’t gone for controversy here on The Road to Anywhere, so it was hard to pick a post for this category. I have chosen Kathmandu – First Impressions of Nepal because it describes the initial shock that you can get when visiting your first “third world nation”. Also, I have received a bit of “hate spam” on this post.
My most helpful post:
I think my most helpful post is How to Spend 3 Days in Rome. I don’t know how helpful it has actually been, but I think that this post provides some good information and seems to get a decent amount of search engine traffic.
A post whose success surprised me:
Akaroa, New Zealand is one of my very first posts, but is one of the most visited posts on The Road to Anywhere. I didn’t expect to get so much traffic on early posts.
A post I feel didn’t get the attention it deserved:
I think that My scariest and most spectacular flight deserved a little more attention. Although I didn’t have the photos to back it up, I think that it is a good story.
The post that I am most proud of:
This was another category that I had trouble with, because I don’t think one particular post stands out from the rest for me. There are a few that I like, but I don’t think I have written that post yet. I have chosen one of my recent posts, A Helihike on Fox Glacier, New Zealand because it is one of my favourite experiences and one that I am really proud of accomplishing.
As the My 7 Links rules say, I now have to pass on the challenge to some other bloggers. I thought this would be a good opportunity to give a shout out to some of the readers that have posted comments on my blog. So I nominate:
- Chasing the Unexpected
- Kris Koeller
- Nomadic Samuel
- Turkish Travel Blog
- Little Columbia Observationist
A fine list. I’m new to your blog so it was great to catch up on these. Some true adventures!
Thanks Kris, it’s great to see people reading my blog. I really appreciate it 🙂
Thanks for nominating me Dean, nice selection of posts, I love your photos of Rome. Just published my 7 links 🙂
It’s my pleasure, Angela. I enjoyed reading your 7 links. Cheers
Thanks for nominating me Dean but I already did my 7 links post at the beginning of the month. Can you put someone else’s name in instead? In the meantime, there seems to be quite a few posts I have missed so off to read them 🙂
No worries. Everyone seems to have already been nominated so I thought I would just use the opportunity to give a shout out to people who have commented on my blog. Cheers 🙂
