Today’s travel photo is of Lake C.Y. O’Connor in Mundaring, located in the hills behind Perth in Western Australia. This is the lake behind the Mundaring Weir, just outside of the town of Mundaring, and is one of the main sources of drinking water for Perth. A pipeline also runs all of the way from here to Kalgoorlie in the goldfields far to the east. Mundaring is an excellent location for a day trip from Perth and has some lovely natural scenery, plus there is a great pub at the weir that is well worth checking out.
I thought I recognized that location! Mundaring is certainly worth a look, and there is a great 4WD track out there too!
